DAY 1
Tirana, the vibrant capital, 110 m and the Pëllumbas Cave, 479 m. After arrival at noon, transfer from “Mother Teresa” airport to the hotel in downtown Tirana. After a short break we will pick you up at the hotel and proceed to the Pëllumbas cave. The well marked path runs along some steep cliffs with stunning views over the gorge of river Erzen. The cave is 380 meters long, 10-15 m wide and 15-45 m high, and you need about two hours to explore it. The path to the cave is very pleasant, well marked and secured. There are rest areas with benches, several lookout points along the way. After the first 40 meters, the cave is completely dark. The ground can be muddy and slippery. After visiting the cave, we return back to the city and walk to the restaurant for the dinner. Accompaniment back to the hotel. Wt 3 h, T2, Am↑ 300 Dm ↓300.
DAY 2- Durres-Vlore
The ancient and modern town of Durrës and Vlora. The day begins with a short walk through Tirana. Founded in 1614, Tirana became the capital of Albania in 1920 and is the main cultural and industrial centre of Albania. Tirana is a city where fun is guaranteed: lively, loud, crazy, colorful, simply fascinating. We’ll continue our trip by car towards Durrës. The city founded in 627 BC has much to tell of its colorful story, beautiful beaches and attractions. We will have time for a short visit to the city and its Roman amphitheater, one of the greatest monuments of antiquity in Albania that was built in the first decades of the 2nd century, probably during the reign of the Roman Emperor Hadrian. After some free time for lunch, the journey continues in the direction of Vlorë. The most ancient traces of Vlora date back to the period of antiquity, since century VI B.C. and today Vlora is an important trade and touristic centre in Albania. Dinner is planned in one of the most beautiful restaurants near the sea where you can enjoy fresh fish or seafruits. After dinner, we will be driven to the National Park of Llogara where we will be accommodated in a small, but comfortable hotel Wt.3 h.
DAY 3- Llogara
Llogara, the evergreen park: 800 - 1400m . T2, Wt. 4 h, Am↑300 Dm ↓300. The National Park of Llogara is one of the most beautiful places in Albania with woods, beautiful valleys, countless natural resources, as well as numerous species of plants, animals and birds. Walking in the park is planned for the day. After lunch, journey to Vlora (Radhimë) begins. In the afternoon time is scheduled for sea-bathing or diving. The sea bottom at the Karaburun park is quite interesting because of the ruins of the Greek and Roman vessels and warships of the Second World War found in it. The sea flora and fauna are also very rich. Dinner and accommodation will be provided in Radhimë.
DAY 4- Orikum
Boat trip around the Karaburun Peninsula Right after breakfast, you will be driven to Oricum seaport to start the trip around the Karaburun Peninsula. Karaburun is known for its abundant nature attractions and its various archaeological discoveries. The first stop is at the north end of the peninsula, where the cave of Haji Ali (Haxhi Ali) is found, which is 30 meters long, 10-15 meters high and 9.5 meters wide. For a long time, it served as the base in the wars against the military vessels of Venice, France and England. If the sea conditions permit, you can visit the cave. The next stops in our trip to the south are the Bays of Dafina and Bristani. During the day, we can make even other unplanned stops for sea-bathing. At afternoon the return trip to Tirana starts. There you will have dinner at a traditional restaurant. After dinner, you can spend some pleasant moments in one of the “Block” area bars and enjoy the vibrant night life of Albanian capital city. SUPPLEMENTS
Rooming on tour & Single Room Option (Not applicable to self-guided holidays).
Most group tours are based on customers sharing twin-bedded rooms. If you book as an individual, you will be roomed with someone of the same gender. However, on many tours we offer the opportunity to pay a supplement to pre-book a single room. On some of these tours a single room will be provided at some of the night-stops but for logistical reasons not all. Individual Trip Notes clarify this. If, for whatever reason, we are unable to provide a single room as outlined in the Trip Notes, we will refund a proportion of the supplement paid to us for the Single Room Option.
Where you are able to purchase a single room, the price does not necessarily guarantee you a single room for every night of the tour.
All of our group tours are planned and operated on a twin-share basis, meaning that the standard cost is based either on individual travelers sharing accommodation with another group member of the same sex, or people who book together sharing accommodation.
Please refer to the tour notes where the single room option availability is detailed on a night by night basis for this tour, and the price for the available nights is detailed on the dates & prices tab by departure date.
For Self-Guided trips the Single Room supplement offers the option of a single room each and is charged per person. The Single Room supplement also applies to the third person in a party of three that will be accommodated in a single room.

Accommodation and service levels in Albania are generally very good. We try to use smaller, family-run hotels and pensions that might not offer the same luxuries as larger chain-style hotels, but they do provide a warm welcome, a comfortable place to stay and the chance to gain a better understanding of local life.
